This medal depicting a woman with coat-of-arms and the City of Lille is made by Alphée Dubois.
Dubois (1831-1905) was a sculptor and medallist, born in Paris. He was the pupil of J J Barre and Duret. He won Prix de Rome in 1855, and medals at Salons of 1868 and 1869. In 1883 he was elected Knight of the Légion d'Honneur.
