This medal depicting a horse and a cow is made by Alphée Dubois (overse) and his son Henri Dubois (reverse).
Alphée Dubois (1831-1905) was a pupil of J J Barre and Duret. He won the Prix de Rome in 1855, and showed medals at Salons of 1868 and 1869. In 1883 he was elected Knight of the Légion d'Honneur.
Henri Alfred Auguste Dubois was born in Rome, Italy in 1859 as the son of the Alphée Dubois. He was pupil to his father, to Chapu and to Falguière.
