This bronze medal was made by Jules Prosper Legastelois in France, about 1918. This medal, which was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1920, was struck in 1918 when Ferdinand Foch (1851-1929) was made a marshal of France and elected to the French Academy. Foch commanded the Allied Armies on the Western Front during the final campaigns of the First World War.

Physical description
Obv., portrait head of Marshal Foch in uniform, bare-headed, three-quarter right. Rev., growing French cockerel standing on the two halves of a broken sword. The edge has the incuse cornucopia of Paris Mind mark and BRONZE.
