This bronze medal was made by Jules Prosper Legastelois in France, about 1920. This medal represents Georges Clemenceau who was nicknames 'The Tiger' for the bold ruthlessness of his administration. He was Prime Minister of France before the War, and was re-elected in 1917. This medal, exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français in 1920, commemorates the successful battle which drove the Germans out of the St. Mihiel Salient on the 11th of September 1918.

Georges Clémenceau, struck bronze, by Jules Prosper Legastelois, French, 20th century, about 1920.
Physical description
Obv., portrait head of Clemenceau, bare-headed, three-quarters right. Rev., standing on a rocky outcrop, Clemenceau dresssed in overcoat and alpine hat, addresses cheering soldiers in the trenches. The edge has the incuse cornucopia of Paris Mint mark and BRONZE.
