This medal was struck in commemoration of the visit of the Emperor Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie to the City of London in 1855.

This medal depicts on the obverse three-quarter face portraits of Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie and on the reverse an allegoric group and inscription.
