This bronze medal, made by G. G. Adams, commemorates the opening of Blackfriars Bridge and Holborn Viaduct. The foundation stone of the new bridge was laid by the Lord Mayor on 20 July 1867 and opened by Queen Victoria on 6 November 1869. Holborn Viaduct was opened on the same occasion as Blackfriars Bridge.

Medal, opening of Blackfriars Bridge and Holborn Viaduct. eNGLISH 1869.
Physical description
Obv., diademed head of Queen Victoria left. Rev., two wreaths, the lower one inverted, touching at the centre beneath the arms of the City of London. Within the wreaths, views of the two works, date above, Londinia and Britannia facing each other.
