This medal, made by G. G. Adams, commemorates the visit of King George of the Hellenes in 1880. This piece is one of the series of medals commissioned by the Corporation of the City of London; 400 specimens were struck.

Physical description

Obv., bare head of King George I left. Rev., Londinia offering an address of welcome to Greece standing before a view of the Acropolis. Britannia standing behind Londinia before a view of St Paul's cathedral.
