This silver plated bronze medal was made by George Rayner Hoff (1894-1937) in 1921. It was commissioned by the National Federation of Fruit and Potato Trades Associations. Hoff trained in Britain, but went to Australia as a young man in 1923, where he had been appointed director of sculpture and drawing at the East Sydney Technical College. He became head of the art department in 1933. His war memorials in Australia are especially noteworthy.
