This medal was issued to commemorate the 50th birthday of Yehudi Menuhin and is made by Paul Vincze in Britain in 1966.
Yehudi was a Russian Jewish American violinist and conductor who spent most of his performing career in the United Kingdom. He is one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century.
Vincze (1907-1994) was born in Hungary but travelled to Rome on a scholarship. In 1938, he came to England, becoming a British citizen in 1948.
