This coarsely executed medal was struck to commemorate the 7th centenary of the foundation of the Castilian Navy and the conquest of the town of Seville by Ferdinand III of Castille and Leon. Issued 1st April, 1949.

Physical description

Obverse: a king with sword and orb seated under gothic canopy in the background a walled and turreted city. Inscription.
Reverse: An anchor between shields of the arms of Castille and Leon enclosed within a border of chain and an inscription.
