This statuette representing Paris was probably made in the 16th century South Germany. The figure of Paris is based on an Italian original, probably by Antonio Pollaiuolo.

Physical description

Statuette in bronze. The naked figure of Paris stands resting on his left leg, the right bent slighly at the knee. He looks to the right, his left arm bent, the back of the hand resting on his hip, in his right hand he holds a crook. The figure has been mounted on a square moulded base of the 17th century with engraved decoration of cherub heads.
