This polychromed terracotta statuette represents the Virgin Annunciate and is made in Italy in the 15th century by an unknown artist. The Virgin is standing on a shallow six-sided base moulded in one with the figure and the back of the figure is flat.

Physical description
This statuette represents the Virgin Annunciate with the Virgin standing on a shallow six-sided base moulded in one with the figure. Back of the figure is flat. Her bowed head is covered with a veil. She bends forward and to the left, holding a book against her breast with her left hand and supporting her cloak with her right. Her cloak is edged with a band with incised imitation Cufic letters and a fringe.
