The style of the drapery appears to be later than that of the Gothic period and the brocaded pattern on the Virgin's robe and cloak is not earlier than the 18th century. The pigmentation and gilding suggest a late 18th or early 19th century date.

Physical description

Statuette in painted wood, the Virgin and Child. The Virgin is seated on a narrow bench holding an apple in her raised right hand. The Child, seated on the Virgin's left knee, holds an apple in his left hand. The whole gilded with traces of later, blue and red colour. The right hand of the Child is missing.
