This boxwood statuette representing Adam and Even was probably made in Netherlands or Germany, in about 1550-1600. This may be based on an engraving.

Physical description

Boxwood statuette of Adam and Eve. To the left the naked Adam moves forward his right arm raised his left round Eve's waist. She with her right arm on his shoulder holds forward the apple with her left hand. On a base carved to represent grass behind them a tree trunk (restored) with entwined werpent.
