This head, carved from porphyry shows a conventional head of Julius Caesar in full face. The head which is either antique or a seventeenth century forgery of the antique, is set on its marble base with the addition of a strip of plaster round the neck. The lower part seems to date from the late eighteenth century or nineteenth century.
