Historical context | See Lady Charlotte Schreiber's Journals, ed. Montague J Guest, London, 1911 for an account of her visit to the Antonibon factory in 1869. The factory was established in 1763; Francesco Antonibon is recorded as the proprietor in 1869. Pasquale Antonibon specialised in 'imitations of the best and earliest ware' and sold through a Venetian dealer, Rietti, who had a monopoly. |
