Casket containing three canisters, two for tea and one for sugar, of painted enamel on copper, with gilt copper mounts. English, third quarter of 18th century. The casket is oblong, painted in colours with landscapes in panels resevred on a ground of pink decorated with white scrolls and dots. The panels are surrounded by raised gilt rococo scrollwork and flowers. The mounts, handle and lock escutcheon are chased with rococo scrollwork; the inside is lined with green velvet. The two canisters for tea have circluar covers and the third a hinged lid; all are decorated in a similar manner to the casket and are finished with narrow mounts.
