Physical description

Sugar basin and cover of soft-paste porcelain, painted in colours and decorated with gilding in the Japanese style. Both are painted with sprays of prunus, chrysanthemum, and other flowers in panels separated by wide vertical dark blue bands decorated with rosettes and gilt foliage. On the top of the cover, and round the lower part of the basin is band of white foliage on a blue ground.
