This navy blue linen hat with grosgrain ties and trim was designed by London milliner Andrew Wilkie. This informal design dates from a period when hat wearing was becoming less important for many women. It features a light linen fabric and minimum surface decoration. Delicate ruffles are the only embellishment.

Physical description
Navy blue linen hat with navy grosgrain ties, and finished with a navy grosgrain edge and ruffles at the back. Two panels of fabrics are used to create the brim, one for the top of the hat and two surrounding the top.
