This necklace is made by an American Indian jeweller from the Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. Traditional, natural materials such as turquoise, serpentine, shell and wood have been augmented with brightly coloured plastics to give a more vibrant and individual effect.

Physical description
Necklace comprising five strands of brightly coloured beads of mixed materials, the ends threaded with tiny olive shell spacers and then braided and tied in a knot. Each strand includes three beads of serpentine carved in the form of a bear.
