Physical description

Gold hoop, shoulders decorated with an engraved chevron pattern and enamelled in black. Rectangular box shaped bezel with clipped corners, the sides of the bezel are engraved with a geometric pattern and enamelled in black. The face of the ring is covered with a faceted rock crystal, beneath which is set a decorative panel. The panel is formed of a ground of plaited hair and red silk ribbon upon which a looping border of gold thread is laid. The italic initials DMC (?) in gold thread form the centre of the panel.
