Cassone of polished walnut or 'chestnut' wood, inlaid with marquetry: terminal figures at the corners, in the center a shield of arms in relief, possibly those of Oreosti of Bologna and Gherardeschi of Bologna:
1st and 4th, an arm draped holding a bunch of flowers.
2nd and 3rd, paley of five or and azure.
The first coat has the arm and band reversed on the fourth quarter.

The early register suggests that the arms are of the family of Mengolini of Faenza, and that the scene represented is of the infant God of Marriage in a litter accompanied by Cupids.
