Spinning Dish

Centrepiece
2001 (made)
Artist/Maker

Peter Ting is among the most innovative contemporary ceramic designers. Working primarily for the table, Ting has reinvigorated the ranges of fist Thomas Goode, and later Asprey. He has also embarked on a range of more independent ventures, including these centrepieces, produced in association with the silversmith Clive Burr. The results of this venture were shown alongside the work of studio potter Taskeshi Yasuda at Sotheby's in the exhibition 'The Future Table', curated by Janice Blackburn.
Innovative and stylish, this dish not only further illustrates the imaginative designs of Ting himself, but also provides an interesting example of the meeting of craft, design and industry.
