Place of origin

Pipaluk Lake (b. 1962) is one of Denmark's leading glass artists. Her work is sculptural in character, and highly individual, by virtue of her unusal techniques. These involve utilising sheet glass that is fused and slumped to create soft forms suggestive of movement and flow.

Pipaluk Lake (born 1962) Spring 2007 Pipaluk Lake is one of Denmark’s leading glass artists. Her work is sculptural in character and highly individual. She suspends and stacks sheets of glass over a metal structure in the kiln and heats them so that the glass begins to flow and fuse together. The resulting shapes are accidental and indeterminate, created by natural forces rather than the artist’s hand. Denmark (Copenhagen) Slumped, with metal oxides and enamels Museum no. C.73-2008.
