This robust fork with its flat-bladed knife served fine morsels of raw meat to distinguished guests of the hunt. A huntsman's 'trousse', a multi-socketed sheath worn on his belt, contained a variety of tools, decorated to match. Saws and cleavers cut bone. Delicate knives and bodkins cut and skewered small pieces of meat which were offered on the presentoir.
