Physical description

Turned and carved bowl in ash, with feet of boxwood. The shallow bowl is decorated with holes in the centre to allow liquid to percolate into the foot, which is hollow and screwed into the bowl. Below the tip is an enriched moulding. The bowl is possibly intended for holding pounce or sand to be sprinkled onto paper to dry ink.
