Border trimming of bobbin lace. Narrow length of Mechlin lace with a Fond de glace ground, cloth work pattern outlined with gimp and with open fillings of the honeycomb type. The lace was designed to be joined along one end to form a continuous motif across the join. The outer slightly scalloped edge is bordered by a line of linked ovals.
