Border of Alençon needle lace worked in linen thread. Mainly of plain Alençon net lightly decorated with a border pattern of minute flowerheads linked by leaf shapes with linked floral stems forming a zigzag line above and a scatter of tiny floral sprigs across the remaining ground. Worked in solid buttonholing with a raised outline except for some star and bar fillings in the border. At a later date the top has been narrowed towards either end. The original edge is missing and it lacks a heading. One join in the centre.
