Bobbin lace vandyked border with each vandyke being formed by a large pointed leaf worked in cloth stitch with openwork decoration. Above the rows of leaves is a plain band of simple twist-net. The border is slightly gathered onto a bobbin-made heading, which is attached to a shaped muslin band cut on the cross to form a wide shallow collar of the bertha.
