Bowl of earthenware decorated in black and white slip under a lead-glaze. The back is unglazed with a hole pierced through the edge at the foot. In the middle is a formal tulip with outlines dotted in white, surrounded by a band of white edged with black. On the edge is a zigzag in white.

Extract from letter received from Major Slatineanu - I enclose the list of the plates which have reached you with the names of the regions they came from. As they have been mostly collected by me directly from the peasant which used them sometime ago, I can be nearly sure of their place of origin. (The numbers on this list are those chalked on the back of each piece.)
