Bowl of light brown earthenware painted in dark brown, copper-green and vermilion on a ground of white slip. The front is lead-glazed. Round the middle is a belt of fine brown concentric lines combed outwards to form a six-pointed star. The points end in dotted rosettes. Another band of fine brown concentric lines on the side, and a border of red and green dotted rosettes on the rim. Foot pierced for suspension.

Bowl of light brown earthenware covered with a white slip and pained in colours. Romanian, made in Hurez in the Oltenia region, late 19th century.

Bowl of light brown earthenware painted in dark brown, copper-green and vermilion on a ground of white slip. The front is lead-glazed. Round the middle is a belt of fine brown concentric lines combed outwards to form a six-pointed star. The points end in dotted rosettes. As they have been mostly collected by me directly from the peasant which used them sometime ago, I can be nearly sure of their place of origin. (The numbers on this list are those chalked on the back of each piece.)
