Plate of soft-paste porcelain, with undulating edge. In the centre is a cupid sitting among clouds ringing two hand-bells, and with a basket of fruit, in pink camaïeu. The rim is decorated with a band of foliated scrollwork in two shades of pink and with festoons of husk pattern in grey.

Production
Decoration previously attributed to Richard Askew, who, however, did not work at Derby until 1794. The plate was attributed to Askew on acquisition in 1901, and it appears in the 1876 catalogue of the Museum of Practical Geology by Henry de la Beche and Trenham Reeks as painted by him. It does not appear in the 1855 catalogue.
