Frieze tile, fritware, decorated with a moulded inscription (probably from the Qur’an), painted in cobalt blue; the background is painted in golden-brown lustre, Iran (probably Kashan), early 14th century.
Physical description
Frieze tile (one of a set of forty), fritware, rectangular with raised inscription in Naskh script coloured in cobalt blue, surrounded by a background of fine scrollwork in half palmettes executed in lustre, glazed.
