Sugar bowl and cover of porcelain painted in colours and gilded in imitation of Japanese Imari ware. Decoration divided into eight panels alternately containing a red floral medallion on a dark blue ground enriched with gilt trellis-work or flowers, and a dark blue medallion on a white ground. The dark blue medallions are decorated in gold with a peony-flower or a bird on a branch, and the corresponding set amid the branches of a flowering tree or on a background of red trellis-work.
