Dish of porcelain. Deep saucer shape with the sides having wide spiral flutes. An undulating rim. Painted in the centre with a narrow circular blue band ornamented on one side with a gilt line and on the other with a saw-tooth border, enclosing a gilt thistle. The edge is decorated with a thick band of underglaze blue flanked by gilt lines, and overlaid with a stylised foliate chain in gold.
