Bowl of porcelain, glazed and semi-matt black on the outside. The foot has a gilt edge. The inside is covered with a mottled yellow glaze. The top inside edge is edged with gilt, and below this is banded with black which is highlighted with white 'shine' lines. This band forms a background to clusters of yellow, black and mottled blue balloons, the whole decoration being stippled and streaked with gilt.
