Bowl and cover of hard-paste porcelain. Vertical-sided bowl curving in to a slightly splayed footrim; horizontal handles picked out in leaf-green. Domed cover with spherical knob.

On one side of the bowl, two "Orientals" sitting between an exotic bird and a pair of smoking vases; on the other, a pair of figures similarly attired, one holding a globular bowl of flowers, the other a fan; on the bottom of the bowl, inside, is a figure seated swathed in a purple robe and holding a large vase in his arms. On the cover, two similar pairs of "Oriental" figures, and flowering sprays in the Kakiemon manner. The colours used are greyish-green, purple, iron-red, yellow, leaf-green, blue and bluish-grey.
