Furnishing fabric of printed cotton. Madder dyed and block-printed cotton in two shades of red showing a meandering floral design worked in light and dark vertical stripes. The pattern shows a stylised floral trail worked alternately in dark red on red and red on dark red, and was printed with a dark red block on a ready dyed ground. The sample shows only part of the full width although there is a wide selvedge (1.5 inch or 4 cm) down the right hand side.

The fabric is machine hemmed top and bottom and has attached to it a paper label. The pattern number is 6766.
