Many 20th-century puzzles were cut to suit the age and ability of children. These vary from a few large and easily manageable pieces to smaller and more numerous ones. This puzzle is one of a set of four that were used by children in a primary school from the 1950s to the 1980s. They have simple cut-out pieces that fit together. Each has wooden tray to hold the puzzle in place.
