Glued to the inside of the lid, below the picture, is a card bearing the signature of the artist. On the same card is the address of George Power who may have been the agent for the artist.
The picture show Christ before a cross surrounded by thousands of people, kings and emperors, many of which are recognisable such as Elizabeth I, Charles I and Napoleon. The head of Christ is cut as a single unit, round in shape.

Object history | Part of an archive owned by Waddington PLC (John Waddington Ltd) which was being dispersed. The museum was given first refusal of all the items and those chosen complimented the existing Games and Puzzles collection. |
Production | The box has lost its identification but the overall appearance is similar to puzzles produced by The Chad Valley Company, especially those for GWR. Likewise the cut of the puzzle is a standard Chad Valley format. Reason For Production: retail |
