Object history | There are no rules or equipment available for the game, however, it is probable that as there are 80 segemented sections showing the various areas in and around the Isle of Wight it is a race game. It is also probable that rewards and forfeits are played. The whole folds into a cloth covered board bearing a label with a lithographed title. CGG-Games & Puzzles, 1991 |
Historical context | Rewards: unknown; probably forward movement; extra turns; receiving counters from the pool Forfeits: unknown, probably back movement, missing turns and payment of counters to the Pool No. of Players: ? Equipment required: teetotum or dice; markers and possibly counters for a pool Rules: The layout has the appearance of a Steeplechase board and it may be that the game is played by those rules rather than by the standard race rules Rules placement: no rules |
