Object history
Registered File number 1986/85.
The style of the pattern is not that of Anna Maria Garthwaite but it is evident from her designs that the pronounced zig-zag sub-patterns came in during these years. The restriction in the number of different types of flowers also seem to date from then. The buff colour was very fashionable then.

The high number of cords and the use of an extra flushing weft indicate that this was an expensive silk.
