The game is based on the children's book characters made famous by Beatrix Potter. The playing pieces are four lead figures in the shape of the characters Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jeremy Fisher and Jemima Puddle Duck. These were made by Britains Ltd, a company famous for its lead figures, especially soldiers. There are four different coloured paths to follow, one for each character. The directions for forfeits and rewards is indicated on some of the squares. The players are subject to the adventures met on each of their respective paths. The rest of the playing surface is covered with illustrations relating to the Beatrix Potter books about the four characters.
