Physical description

Dress fabric of brocaded silk. Beige silk woven with some details in brown and a tiny check in the ground. The majority of the pattern is brocaded in silks and silver thread. The pattern is dominated by a large flower head but also includes a fountain with an avenue of cypress trees, tasselled cushions, fruit, an open book and other obscure shapes. The repeat is 13 inches deep but is not complete side to side. There is a right-hand selvedge.
