Physical description

Dress fabric of satin brocaded in silver. With a dull purple ground in a satin of 5, and with a dense pattern of regularly undulating stems, leaves and slightly stylised flowers brocaded in silver. The contrasting centres of the flowers have been achieved by means of using the same thread as the rest of the pattern, but with the silver wound more tightly round the silk core. Four floral meanders, silver thread on gold, and with selvedges.
