Place of origin |
This is an architectural drawing for the lounge bar of a bowling alley by the architect, Thomas Calloway. In the drawing, there are tables and chairs, with red seats, and sofas, upholstered in blue, arranged on a black carpet. The bar is against the wall on the left side and the view is across the lounge bar to a wall of wallpaper or drawn curtains in striped dark reds and orange. The drawing is in pencil, coloured felt-tipped pens, watercolour and bodycolour, which is a form of watercolour made opaque by the addition of white. This design is what is known as a presentation drawing made for a client. Such drawings were finished to a high standard.
