| Object history | Produced as part of an initiative instigated by Thomas Fennemore, sales manager of Foley China, in which a number of contemporary British artists made pattern designs for ceramic tableware. These were produced either in bone china by E. Brain & Co. ('Foley China'), or in earthenware by A.J. Wilkinson, the latter under the direction of Clarice Cliff. The results were launched at the exhibition 'Modern Art for the Table' at Harrods, London, in 1934. Formerly in The Margaret Bulley Collection. |
