This poster dates from the 1968 student and industrial unrest in Paris and powerfully expresses the concerns of those times - a desire for parliamentary democracy, for freedom of speech and a hatred of right-wing politics. This screen-printed poster issued on behalf of the P.C.F. (le Parti Communiste Français) is stamped 'Atelier Populaire', identifying it as one of the products of students of the Ecole des Beaux Arts, who turned out an estimated 120,000 posters between May and June 1968.
