Mandy Bonnell (born UK, 1957) has lived and worked in Kenya regulalry since 1990 and this experience is reflected in her subject matter and her way of working. This print (from a series of 8 - see E.23-30-2006) is based on drawings made for an artist's book. The original drawings were all drawn from the life in Kenya. The images were then developed over a perid of time, through a process of contemplation, re-drawing and then etching. Animals are common subjects in African proverb, song and narratives, as well as visual arts.
