High waisted dress of white satin, short puff sleeves, front fastening of hooks and eyes. Bodice trimmed with buttons and braid, muslin flounces at sleeves and around lower portion of skirt. The short puffed sleeves covered with muslin and with short piped cap oversleeve, the hem edged with scalloped decoration edged with piping. Back of bodice has been altered with insertions of fabric to enlarge waist size.

Object history
This dress was worn by Charlotte Cooley for her marriage to Cyrus Sullivan Clark of Portland. The family lived in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

It was donated by her great-grandaughter, who also donated the wedding dresses of Cyrus and Charlotte Clark's daughter (1867, see T.37&A-1951), their granddaughter (1900, see T.38-1951), and her own 1924 dress (T.39-1951).
